Building your agent
Starting from an agent template
Use a predefined template to spin up a configured agent for common use cases in seconds, then customize it.
Templates are pre-built agent configurations for common use cases. They give you a sensible voice, greeting, and instructions out of the box, so you can launch in seconds and customize from there.
When to use a template
- You want a fast, proven starting point instead of a blank form.
- Your use case is common — reception, bookings, lead capture, support.
- You'd rather edit than write from scratch.
How to use one
- Open Agents → New agent.
- Browse the template library and pick the one closest to your use case.
- The form is pre-filled with a fitting greeting and instructions.
- Edit the details to match your business — name, exact services, tone.
- Click Save.
After applying a template
A template is a starting point, not a finished agent. To make it yours:
- Replace placeholder details (business name, services, hours) with your specifics.
- Connect your knowledge base so it answers from real facts.
- Set your transfer number and call rules.
- Run a test call and refine.
Tip: not sure which template fits? Pick the closest one, then use the AI prompt builder to tailor the instructions further.
Next step
Make sure it works before going live: testing your agent.
