Phone numbers

Forwarding your existing number

Keep your current business number and forward calls to your AI agent — full forwarding or only when you don't answer.

You don't have to get a new number. If you'd rather keep the business line your customers already know, you can forward it to your AI agent. Forwarded calls are answered by your agent exactly like calls to a SunoVoice number.

How it works

  1. In SunoVoice AI, set up the agent you want to answer forwarded calls, and note the forwarding destination the app gives you for that agent.
  2. On your existing phone line, turn on call forwarding to that destination using your carrier's codes or settings.
  3. Place a test call to your business number to confirm the agent answers.

Two ways to forward

Most carriers support both styles — pick what fits:

  • Forward all calls — every call to your line goes straight to the agent. Best when the agent is your primary answer point.
  • Forward only when busy or unanswered — your phone rings first, and calls roll over to the agent if you don't pick up. Best for catching overflow and after-hours calls while you still answer when you can.

Carrier forwarding codes (GSM)

Many phones use standard GSM star-codes to control forwarding. Common ones:

ActionTypical code
Forward all calls**21*<destination>#
Forward when no answer**61*<destination>#
Forward when busy**67*<destination>#
Forward when unreachable**62*<destination>#
Cancel all forwarding##002#

Replace <destination> with the forwarding number shown in the app. Codes vary by carrier and country — if these don't work, check your carrier's call-forwarding instructions or your phone's settings menu.

Tips

  • Test after setup. Call your business number and confirm the agent answers.
  • Mind your carrier's charges. Forwarding may incur normal call charges from your carrier.
  • Turn it off easily. Use the cancel code (##002#) or your phone settings to stop forwarding any time.
