Verifying your phone number

Before you can buy a phone number, you verify a phone you own. It's a quick, one-time anti-fraud check that protects the platform (and you). After it's done, you can buy numbers in any supported country.

How to verify

1. Open Phone numbers. If you haven't verified yet, you'll be prompted to.
2. Enter your own mobile number (in full international format, e.g. +1 415 555 0142).
3. Choose how to receive your code:
   • Text message (SMS) — the default. We text you a short code.
   • Call me with the code — we call you and read the code aloud.
4. Enter the code to confirm. Done — you're verified.

"Call me with the code" — when to use it

In some countries (parts of the Gulf and elsewhere), carriers filter text messages from new senders, so an SMS code may not arrive. If your text doesn't come through within a minute, use Call me with the code instead — the voice call reliably reaches places where SMS doesn't.

After verifying

• You can buy numbers in any supported country — you're not limited to the country you verified in. Most businesses choose a US or UK number regardless of where they're based.
• You won't need to verify again for future purchases.

Frequently asked questions

My SMS code never arrived. Wait a minute, then choose Call me with the code. This is common in regions where carriers block texts from unfamiliar senders, and the voice option works there.

I entered the wrong number. Start the verification again with the correct number.

Do I have to buy a number in the country I verified? No. Verification is just the security gate — once you're verified you can buy in any supported country.
